Mark Mortland, PT/ATC

Mark Mortland is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. He is a successful entrepreneur, having owned and operated eight Pittsburgh area physical therapy clinics, which he sold in 1997 to NovaCare, Inc. Prior to joining the Penguins as a full-time athletic trainer and physical therapist in 1996, Mortland spent 12 years in the clinical healthcare setting, providing a full spectrum of athletic healthcare and rehabilitation services. Mark received a bachelor's degree in athletic training/biology from Lock Haven University in 1985 and physical therapy degree from the University of Maryland in 1987.

   
Kevin Carbone MSPT, CSCS

Kevin received a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY in 1998 and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. A native of Binghamton, NY, Kevin began his career as an outpatient physical therapist in a Pittsburgh-area rehabilitation hospital from 1998 to 2003. He has assisted in teaching clinical laboratories at Chatham College and has guest lectured at the University of Pittsburgh’s Physical Therapy Departments. Kevin lives in Bethel Park with his wife, Michelle, and two children, Juliana and Nicholas.

   
Jennifer Artz DPT/ATC

Jennifer received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. She is originally from Cincinnati, OH, but traveled to San Antonio, TX, to get her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Trinity University. Jennifer also is a certified Athletic Trainer and has covered various high school sporting events in the Pittsburgh area since 2004. She currently lives in North Strabane with her husband Jim.

   
Jason Miller, CPT

Jason graduated from Waynesburg College in 1999 and is an American Council Exercise certified personal trainer & total body condition instructor.  He specializes in development of sports performance programs for both amateur and professional athletes including hockey, football, girls basketball, soccer and lacrosse.

   
Melissa Grudi CPT

Melissa has a Bachelor in Science in Physical Education from Slippery Rock University as well as an Advanced Personal Fitness Trainer and Sports Nutrition Specialist Certification from the International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA). Her programs combine weight training, cardiovascular exercise and a nutrition regimen. In her 10 years of experience, Melissa feels that with today’s busy schedules, personal training is one of the best investments a person will ever make to enhance their lifestyle.
