Mark Mortland-Owner PT, ATC

Mark Mortland, as the owner of Mortland Physical Therapy, has been successfully treating orthopedic conditions for over 30 years. During his 16-year tenure as Head Trainer and Physical Therapist for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins from 1993-2009, Mark had the opportunity to work with, and successfully rehabilitate, world-class professional athletes and Olympians such as Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby. Mark led the training staff during the brutal playoff run in 2009 when the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup.

Mark is a graduate of Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He received his Physical Therapy degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Mark is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Prior to joining the Penguins as their full-time athletic trainer and physical therapist, Mark spent 12 years in the clinical healthcare setting, providing a full spectrum of athletic healthcare and rehabilitation services. His successful entrepreneurship, led to owning and operating eight Pittsburgh area physical therapy clinics, which he sold in 1997. His ongoing commitment to health, his patients, the community, his children and his profession is demonstrated in his focus and long tenure with the field of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Nicholas Lopez PT, DPT

Nick graduated from Wheeling Jesuit Universities Doctorate of Physical therapy program in 2015. Nick began working at an outpatient clinic in Aliquippa Pennsylvania. With the desire to work closer to home,in October 2017, Nick joined the team at Mortland Physical therapy and Sports Medicine. Nick's interest in physical therapy began in high school when he was a patient at Mortland Physical Therapy rehabbing a torn ACL and dislocated elbow. Nick was a local graduate of Canon McMillan high school where he played football and wrestled. Upon graduating in 2007, Nick attended Shenandoah University studying Biology while also playing one year of football and three years of lacrosse.

Nick continues to help out with the local Canon McMillan youth wrestling CCNS program. He also enjoys working out, rooting for the local Pittsburgh sports teams, and spending time with his family.

James Love III PTA

Jim graduated from Penn State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Upon graduation, Jim and his wife moved to Tampa, FL where he was a 6th grade science educator for 7 years. Originally from Pennsylvania Jim, his wife and 2 daughters decided to relocate back to the area in 2011 to be closer to family. Jim always had an interest in exercise science and rehabilitation; therefore, upon relocating to Canonsburg he decided to make a career change and enrolled in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at California University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 2014.

Jim enjoys spending time with his family, watching Pittsburgh sports teams, completing home projects, and supporting his girls during their many sport and school activities.
